Wrist Arthrogram

The patient was placed in the supine position and the left wrist was prepped and draped in a sterile fashion. The left wrist was placed over sterile towels with ulnar angulation. A 25-gauge needle was inserted into the radiocarpal joint under fluoroscopic guidance. Subsequently, 2.5 mL of contrast was injected, the needle was removed and a sterile dressing was applied. 


AP and lateral images are were obtained. The radiocarpal joint is well-defined. The contrast outlines the articular surfaces of the radius and carpal bones. There The triangular fibrocartilage complex is intact.

CONTRAST: 

2.5 mL of a 1:1 mixture of (Omnipaque 240) : (1 mL of Clariscan / 100 mL of saline)
