Elbow

The patient was positioned in a seated position with the right elbow flexed at 90 degrees. The patient's right elbow was prepped and draped in sterile fashion.

A timeout was performed identifying correct patient, site, and procedure.

Local anesthesia (1% Lidocaine) was applied to the injection site. Under fluoroscopic guidance, a 25-gauge needle was inserted into the joint capsule of the elbow. Subsequently, 6 mL 50:50 mixture of Omnipaque 240 and a 0.5 Clariscan:100  saline mixture  was injected into the joint. Contrast filled the joint capsule with no evidence of extravasation. The needle was removed and a sterile bandage was applied.
