Adult Out-patients:

50 mg prednisone PO 13, 7 and 1 hour before the injection AND
50 mg diphenhydramine (Benadryl) IV/PO within 1 hour of the injection.
Adult ED and In-Patients:
Adult ED and In-Patients:
200 mg hydrocortisone IV 4 hours before injection AND
50 mg diphenhydramine (Benadryl) IV/PO within 1 hour of the injection.
